Creek signs extension in Adelaide
Mitch Creek has signed a three-year extension with the Wilson Adelaide 36ers. Creek came to Adelaide prior to the 2010/11 season as an 18-year-old. He has since clocked 145 games with the 36ers, averaging 7.6 points per game. Head Coach Joey Wright said that Creek is one of a kind, on and off the court. “He is constantly trying to make himself a better player and person. "He is a true team player, and he will continue to do great things for our squad. "Not only do we see Mitch as a key player in our future, I think he can be someone that can captain this club as well." Last season, Creek averaged 9.8 points and 4.1 rebounds in 26 games. The new contract will see the 24-year old add to his six consecutive seasons in Adelaide. "I have stronger memories here more than anywhere else, I couldn't be happier to stay. "The fans in Adelaide are amazing - without them, we are just 11 sweaty blokes running around having fun chasing a ball! “My personal goals for the upcoming year is to be able to help drive and lead the team to a successful season. "To continue to increase my output on court on a more consistent basis.” Creek is looking forward to the line-up the club is putting together. “After last season we all started to learn and understand each other. "We have a strong foundation and culture now, and with "I think next year will be very exciting with new faces with a strong foundation and culture. I can’t wait for it to start."
