CPA Australia partners with NBL All Australian Team

CPA Australia, one of the world’s largest accounting bodies, has signed with the NBL as naming rights partner of the NBL All Australian team for its tour of China this week. CPA Australia has a global membership of more than 155,000 members working in 118 countries with more than 25,000 members working in senior leadership positions. CPA Australia chief executive Alex Malley said the sponsorship supported CPA Australia’s strategic direction. “Raising awareness of CPA Australia’s brand in our targeted growth markets is a key part of our strategy.  CPA Australia has had a presence in Mainland China since 2002 and our membership base there continues to grow.” “The broadcast of the games on China TV Station CCTV5 will give our brand high level exposure in this important market.” The NBL All Australian Team will travel to China for a three-game series against the Chinese National Team with the first game on the 6th of May in the city of Nanning followed by games in Guangzhou on the 8th of May and Beijing on the 10th of May. The11-man side to be led by Australian Boomers and Brisbane Bullets Head Coach Andrej Lemanis, fields players from across the League including six players who feature in the extended Boomers squad named in March; new Brisbane recruits Daniel Kickert and Adam Gibson, along with Todd Blanchfield (Melbourne United), Mitch Norton (Illawarra Hawks), Clint Steindl and Lucas Walker (Adelaide 36ers). NBL General Manager Jeremy Loeliger said it was fantastic to have such a globally recognised organisation with a long history in Asia and particularly China partnering with the NBL. “CPA Australia and the NBL share a commitment to providing the highest quality products in our respective fields to our members and supporters. The series is an integral part of the NBL’s focus on strategic growth and expansion in partnership with FIBA, Basketball Australia and the China Basketball Association and we are excited to have CPA Australia beginning the journey with us.” The games will be televised on China TV Station CCTV5 in a major coup for Australian Basketball with the station having an audience reach of approximately 1.2 billion people. Negotiations for coverage on Australian TV are currently underway and will be announced this week.
