Hungry Jack's NBL
Corletto embarks on new adventure
Veteran guard Daryl Corletto has opted to embark on the next phase of his lengthy career, leaving CTI Melbourne United after one season. The man with the deadly three-point stroke joined Melbourne United for its inaugural NBL season, coming off the bench in an important back-up role to average 6.4 ppg on 40.5 per cent shooting. But when looking ahead to next season, Corletto felt it best for him and Melbourne to move on with the opportunity for him to play in the UK in his sites. “At my age, I want to get into a situation when I can play some significant minutes and role that comes with extra responsibility and pressure,” Corletto said. “Rather than stay with Melbourne and the likelihood of playing spot minutes here and there, it would be better for me to go and let a young player like Greg Page take those minutes.” Corletto has played 397 NBL games, averaging 8.3 ppg and winning championships with the Melbourne Tigers and New Zealand Breakers.
