"I’ve heard rumours that Tasmania’s preparing for him to be back Decemer-ish."

The Tasmania JackJumpers could be in line for an early Christmas present with Andrew Bogut predicting NBA swingman Jack McVeigh is likely to be headed home by December.

Speaking on his Rogue Bogues podcast, Bogut revealed the JackJumpers are preparing for McVeigh to re-join their roster despite signing a two-way deal with the Houston Rockets.

“Now you hope McVeigh has as long as a stay as he can in the NBA, but I’ve heard rumours that Tasmania’s preparing for him to be back Decemer-ish,” Bogut claimed.

“That is what I heard from people that are in the know in Tasmania is they’re sitting there rubbing their hands together...

“I hope he does well in camp but Houston’s pretty deep in his position … They got a lot of guys in the three-four (position), young athletes and a lot of their previous picks play that similar position.”

Bogut says if it’s true, McVeigh would have to choose between playing in the G-League or return to Tasmania.

“I’m sure Houston will be honest with him at that point that, 'We have you as a call-up guy where we’ll bring you up and down', or 'No, we will just keep you in the G-League for the whole season'. He might say, 'You know what, I’ll go back [to Tasmania],' or they could potentially cut him,” Bogut said.

McVeigh won the Championship Series MVP last season after leading the JackJumpers to a historic title.
