Chase Buford Fined

The Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League (NBL) Game Review Panel has reviewed an incident that occurred in Grand Final Game 2 on Sunday, involving Sydney Kings’ coach Chase Buford.

Broadcast cameras captured Buford striking the LED signage with his foot during the third quarter, resulting in damage to the panel.

After a review, Buford was charged for unsportsmanlike behaviour and fined $500, reduced to $375 after he accepted an early guilty plea.

The referees were not aware that the incident occurred, and as such, an in game penalty was not applied.

Since the game, the NBL and the Kings reached an agreement that the club would pay for the repair or replacement of the panel.
