Champions light up broadcast

Bec Allen and Tom Abercrombie have joined the NBL commentary team.

Some of the game’s most decorated stars have joined the NBL commentary team meaning fans will be treated to the best analysis, opinion, and entertainment during the 2024/25 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season.

Australian WNBA star Bec Allen and four-time NBL champion and New Zealand Breakers legend Tom Abercrombie, headline the new additions with their sharp basketball minds set to provide viewers with fresh new takes on the competition.

Emmy award winning reporter, Ariana Prather brings her experience and expertise from the NBA and WNBA sidelines, with news sports presenters Steph Baumgartel and Lachy Reid also on board.

The NBL Overtime show has received a makeover with a new panel in Felix Von Hofe, Peter Hooley and Lanard Copeland breaking down all the biggest storylines, while Jo Healy will bring all the latest news. Overtime airs on Tuesday at 7:30pm live on ESPN, Kayo and 10Play.

Fans will receive their daily dose of NBL news and opinion when NBL Now returns this week, running every morning from Tuesday-Friday throughout the season. A rotating crew of commentators and experts will join the show, which is available via all podcast providers.

The Huddle will return weekly and give fans an insight into the NBL's players and coaches, while a brand new show dedicated to Supercoach, The Panel: Official NBL SuperCoach Show, will be available every Wednesday.

Commentary mainstays Jack Heverin, John Casey, Joel Peterson, Leigh Montagna, Andrew Gaze, Jenna O’Hea, Copeland, Derek Rucker, Damian Martin, Hooley, Healy, Kelsey Browne, Neroli Meadows, Matt Russell, Brad Rosen, Liam Santamaria, Damon Lowery, Anneli Maley, Alice Kunek and Von Hofe all return.

All games of the Hungry Jack’s NBL season will be broadcast live on ESPN via Kayo, with the Sunday games also on Channel 10 and 10 Play.

New Zealand viewers will be able to enjoy every game live on ESPN, with Breakers regular season games also free-to-air via TVNZ.

The 2024/25 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season begins in Perth with the inaugural HoopsFest from September 19-22. The season opener will be a Championship Series re-match between Melbourne United and the Tasmania JackJumpers at 8:30pm AEST at RAC Arena on Thursday night.
