Cedric the Successful

League analysis has revealed that New Zealand Breakers Cedric Jackson is currently the most successful player in the NBL based on career winning percentage. In his first three years the dynamic import point guard has already been MVP of the NBL, All Star first five selection multiple times, and a multiple year statistical leader, but can now add another title as the League’s winningest player. Jackson has been a part of 76 winning teams from 97 matches over three seasons. His career winning percentage of 78.3% is far above any other current player that has played a minimum of 50-games. He has built up an amazing portfolio of achievements in just three years in the NBL, that statistically at least, is arguably historically better than any other players first treble. No other player has ever previously won three championships in their first three seasons in the NBL, No other player has ever won consecutive Larry Sengstock Medals for Grand Final MVP, and no other player has ever led two different statistical categories in their first two years. His value to the Breakers was highlighted by his absence in 2014 when New Zealand lost 17 games without him on their roster. The total of losses they have in three years with Jackson playing in Auckland is 21. His record at home is even more impressive with a success rate of 86% with seven defeats in 50 home games over three years. Currently ranked second on the list is Adelaide import Ebi Ere, who has returned to the NBL after a six-year absence. If he can maintain the career winning rate of 73% that he matched in his four previous years, that will instantly present Adelaide with 20 wins for the season. Ere has won titles at Sydney and Brisbane and also led the league in scoring at 27 ppg in 2008. Tony Ronaldson has more wins than anyone else in NBL history with 430 victories from his 665 game career at a success rate of 64.66%. To provide some context, no current player has even reached 430 career games played with Illawarra forward Oscar Forman the closest at 420 at seasons start. This list ranks every current rostered player that has played at least 50 career games in the NBL and the percentage of their wins and losses.
