Cadee re-signs with Kings

The Sydney Kings have re-signed guard Jason Cadee for the 2015/16 National Basketball League season. The 24-year-old arrived at the Kings last season after a successful stint with the Adelaide 36ers and had an immediate impact. Sydney Kings head coach Damian Cotter said he is excited to have Jason re-sign and believes the young guard still has plenty of untapped potential. “I’m looking forward to helping Jason utilise his skill set and abilities to build on what was a positive first season with the club,” said Cotter. Cadee had a breakout debut campaign for the Kings that saw him earn a regular starting spot for the latter part of the season, while recording career highs in field goals made, three-point field goals made and points per game. Sydney Kings General Manager Rod Harys, echoed Cotter’s excitement. “We are thrilled to have a Sydney-born player of Jason’s calibre at the Kings and look forward to seeing him in action for another season,” Harys said. Cadee, who is currently competing for the Super City Rangers alongside Kings Captain Tom Garlepp in the New Zealand National Basketball League, said the choice to remain in the purple and gold was an easy one. “I really enjoyed being back in Sydney last year and after talking to Coach Cotter at the end of the season, the decision to stay seemed natural, ” said Cadee. While the homegrown talent had a solid first year for the Kings, he believes that developing into a leader will make him even more of an asset this season. “I’m always working to improve my game, but this year I feel I need to put it on myself to become more vocal and a leader amongst the group. I did it in patches last year so I want to take a step up on that front,” he said. Cadee joins Tom Garlepp and Angus Brandt on the 2015/16 Sydney Kings roster.
