Bullets Confirm Incoming Head Coach

Wednesday, February 8, 2023
The Brisbane Bullets have announced Melbourne United assistant Justin Schueller as their new head coach
The Brisbane Bullets have announced Melbourne United assistant Justin Schueller as their new head coach – with the championship winning right-hand man signing on with the Bullets for the next two seasons.
Schueller – who boasts over a decade of experience within the Australian underage setup – has also held the position of head coach of the Australian U17 men’s team since 2017.
His appointment means interim coach Greg Vanderjagt will vacate the role after he helped steady the ship during a difficult campaign for the Bullets, who finished the regular season in ninth with an 8-20 record.
Schueller believes the Bullets’ roster is in a prime position to succeed next season.
“It’s an exciting time for the club. We have two Olympians on our roster to build around, a fan base that is always there behind the team and the opportunity to turn our on-court output around quickly,” Schueller said.
“This has been something I have been wanting for a long time, and I couldn’t think of a better club to be joining.
“I’m excited and honoured to be joining the Bullets and look forward to leading to club forward as we chase our next championship.
“I can’t wait to get started building this roster and getting to work with the group.”
