Click here to join the #KingsRevolution   Sydney Kings coach Andrew Gaze says he was very impressed by the calibre of talent on show at the second annual rookie camp, and was a major step up from last year's event. 25 talented players from every corner of Australia - and even big man who flew over from India - were put through their paces over two gruelling days.

  Every participant went through physical performance testing, measuring their agility, power and speed over 10 and 22 metres.

  Coach Gaze, along with Lanard Copeland and Luke Kendall then ran the group through a simplified Kings-style offence, and then let them loose in high intensity full court games.     One of the team's newest signings - Dane Pineau - opted to get involved and compete in the 5 on 5 scrimmages, and was particularly impressive on the defensive end. It was also a great opportunity to start the learning process under the Kings' coaching staff.

  Sydney Kings Managing Director Jeff Van Groningen said the camp exceeded expectations, "We were excited at the level of talent we saw at the camp and the spirit of competition, intensity and work rate on show." Contracted Kings stars Jason Cadee and Tom Garlepp were also on hand to watch the action and were both impressed with proceedings.

  Last year’s camp yielded several recruits who went on to suit up in both development and fully contracted roles during the season, and there is hope this will be repeated in 2017-18.
