Adelaide recruit Anthony Drmic
The Adelaide 36ers have made their first new signing - recruiting Anthony Drmic on a two-year contract.
The Boise State University graduate holds the school's record for three-pointers (275) and second in all-time scoring (just two points shy of the top spot) with 1,942 career points.
In his senior year he averaged 13.6 points per game, sitting fifth on the Mountain West Conference all-time scoring list.
The 24-year old keeps it in the family with his first NBL contract, as the younger brother of former NBL Championship winner (1996) Frank Drmic.
“I couldn't be happier to sign my first contract. I want to be able to suit up and contribute to the team right off the bat.
"I really love the Adelaide 36ers as a club and what they represent. I think they have one of the best fan bases in the League and it will be a great atmosphere to be part of."
Drmic spoke about his love for basketball and future ambitions.
"There is nothing I love more than being able to test yourself mentally and physically out on the court.
"One day I want to play in the NBA, and I'm really excited to hone my craft with the Sixers and play for such a well-established coach."
Head Coach Joey Wright said that he’s watched Anthony since he was in the Under 16s, representing Australia.
“I admire Anthony's work ethic and desire to win.
"He plays the game the way it's supposed to be played. He has an uncanny ability to score points and competes on defensive end as well.”
