2015 NBL Blitz to be streamed live and free

The National Basketball League is pleased to announced that all games during the 2015 NBL Blitz will be streamed live and free, available from the official NBL website and foxsports.com.au. The 2015 NBL Blitz will take place in Townsville from the 23-27 September, and will feature all eight NBL teams playing three games each in a battle for the tournament’s Loggins-Bruton Cup. Production company CMS Australasia will be producing the broadcast at the Townsville RSL Stadium, where the Townsville Crocodiles have home court advantage as the defending pre-season Champions. NBL General Manager Jeremy Loeliger said he was thrilled to support an Australian production house while delivering the NBL Blitz to fans everywhere. “We’re very happy to be able to provide basketball fans with a live and free stream of our pre-season tournament. The Blitz is a fantastic preview of the upcoming season and we want people that can’t make it to the games to be able to witness all the action,” said Mr Loeliger. “CMS recently did the broadcast for the Melbourne United game against Louisiana State University at Hisense Arena and the production was top notch. We’re looking forward to delivering an entertaining live broadcast of the NBL Blitz this week and hope everyone across the country tunes in.” CMS Australasia have also won the account to produce the League’s TVC needs for the 2015/16 season, and began shooting this week in Melbourne. The upcoming commercial is set to deliver the concept of “HardBall,” the NBL’s tagline referring to the League’s mentality and approach to the game.  Leading creative agency Publicis Mojo initiated the concept when assigned with the NBL rebrand less than eight weeks ago. The NBL is pursuing an ambitious agenda with the rebrand, with a landmark five-year broadcast deal with FOX SPORTS announced earlier this month and agencies seeing the new-look NBL as an opportunity to enter the tightly held sports lifestyle sector. The 2015/16 NBL season tips-off on Wednesday 7 October with the Adelaide 36ers hosting the New Zealand Breakers, LIVE on FOX SPORTS at 7:30pm EDT. Check local guides for more information.
